McDonald's Communication and Leadership
When reading chapter 5 of Organizational Communication the principle that stood out to me the most was the sixth principle about providing strong leadership. When reading that Julie Zink wrote “the starting point is to create a clear vision of the desired outcomes of the information management strategy. This will describe how the organization will operate, more than just describing how the information systems themselves will work.” I automatically thought of my job at McDonald's, we always have desired outcomes including keeping our wait times inside and in the drive-through to a set amount of seconds. Our desired outcomes work with how we operate to make sure that we allow for a fast and efficient restaurant experience. How strong leadership fits in is that all of our desired outcomes are achieved and our efficient operations when leaders in my case our managers motivate and oversee our operations to make sure we are doing everything we can to meet our desired outcomes and operation with maximum efficiency.
