Visual Rhetoric: Light in the Darkness
I believe that there is much to take away from this photo. There is light in the middle of the photo, but there is darkness all around it. This brought me to think about the argument that there can be no light without darkness and no darkness without light. In other words, light is just the absence of darkness and vice versa. The person in the photo is walking towards the light and out of the darkness. I believe that to find this light the person must have known and been in the darkness.
Applying this to life, the person was in the dark, they were lonely, afraid, hopeless until they found the light. Once they found the light they went towards it and became hopeful, happy, and unafraid. The person had to know the darkness to find the opposite which is light. I wanted to bring up this argument of darkness and light through this photo because I know that everyone no matter who they are can relate to this photo.
